Boho Cake Workshop Bridal Shower

When I met Amanda from JustBakecause way back in February at my cake tasting, she suggested hosting a private cake decorating workshop for my bachelorette/bridal shower. I immediately LOVED the idea (especially after tasting how yummy her cakes are!), and shared the idea with my bridesmaids who all loved the idea too! One month later, we were all gathered on the patio at my house, decorating our own cute mini cakes.

I created this hanging floral backdrop out of silk spray roses and hellebores to add pops of bright color and a touch of whimsy.

I decided to go with a boho chic inspired theme, and Amanda brought the cutest aprons that tied into our theme perfectly! My favorite was the one she let me wear, which you can find at Anthropologie. So tempted to buy one for myself! Along with those aprons, she also brought edible flowers, berries, and the most out-of-this-world pavlovas for us to decorate our cakes. If you don't know what a pavlova is, you NEED to try one! They're a dessert made up of a meringue base that has a chewy center, topped with freshly whipped cream and juicy berries - components that together, make M A G I C.

It was so nice to take a break from wedding planning, and to just spend time chatting with my girls while decorating our cakes. I found this time so peaceful and stress-relieving, which is so important during this crazy last month of wedding planning. Being joined by friendors, Amanda and Nathalie Cheng (the gal behind the camera!) made this experience even better. I'm so grateful to have such lovely friends by my side, and I can't wait to marry my best friend in just two weeks!
