The Bloom Workshop at Holman Ranch

Holman Ranch, Carmel Valley

I attended The Bloom Workshop held at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley almost two months ago, back in April, and I wanted to share some images I shot today! The workshop was held over the course of two days, aimed at equipping small business owners with ways to grow their business and expand their creative outlets. At the end of the second day, a styled shoot was held where we were free to practice shooting tablescapes and models.

The styled shoot was geared mainly towards photographers who were looking to expand their portfolio, but for me it was a time for me to practice using my film camera: my little Canon AE-1. I had just picked it up a couple of weeks before the workshop, so I barely knew how to use it when I went off to Carmel Valley! Thankfully, by some miracle, there's a few usable frames from the two rolls that I shot.

If there's one thing I've learned from shooting film so far, it's that it's H A R D. Major props to all those photographers who shoot weddings on film - you've got mad skills.
